Buten un Binnen – Wagen un Winnen

We are looking forward to inviting you once again to the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen for the Bibliothekartag in 2021. The classic Hanseatic motto “Buten un Binnen – Wagen un Winnen “* shall lead the participants  as a challenge to the spirit of enterprise and innovation, which also libraries must  face up to constantly.

And the current corona pandemic is really a huge challenge! But we are facing it and want to master it – especially next June!

In our beautiful Hanseatic city itself, there will indeed be only positive challenges and discoveries from 15th to 18th of June 2021. Bremen offers an excellent ambience for conferences and exhibitions with the Messe- und Congress Centrum located in the city centre and right next to the central railway station, which is immediately followed by the beautiful Bürgerpark as an oasis of relaxation for congress visitors. The city centre, the lively “Viertel” and the Weser river promenade with its numerous restaurants and cafés invite you to relax after an intense day of sessions and meetings. And, of course, the Bremen Town Musicians and the Roland in the vicinity of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site around the historic Bremen Market Square are also waiting for you. In Bremen, the city of short distances, you can reach (almost) all attractions easily on foot or by bike.

We are looking forward to seeing you!

*For non-Bremer the translation of the motto is: “In the world as well as at home – daring and winning”.
